At Southern Pine Lumber Company, we offer top quality lumber products in everything from decking to the sub-structure to the finished handrail material. We have the largest inventory of Dense Select Structural grade lumber in the State of Florida. This material commonly known as DSS is produced by Langdale Forest Products of Valdosta, GA and is consistently the highest quality material available.
Lumber made of DSS is dimensionally more stable and it is structurally the strongest grade of lumber available. When very good appearance and strength are necessary, choose DSS by Langdale Forest Products. All our lumber is graded in accordance with the Timber Products or Southern Pine Inspection Bureau grading rules. Materials are available from 2×4 through 2×12 and in lengths from 8’ – 20’. Other dimensions and lengths are available on request.
DSS – Dense Select Structural
Available in 2×4 through 2×12, this is consistently the highest grade of lumber available. Our DSS material is produced by Langdale Forest Products of Valdosta, GA. This grade is recommended for construction where high strength, stiffness and very good appearance are desired. These materials are available in lengths from 8′ through 20′.
#2 Grade Lumber
No. 2 grade lumber, commonly referred to as “#2 & Btr” is used where high design values are required and high appearance in not a factor. This grade is available in dimensions of 2×4, 2×6, 2×8, 2×10, and 2×12 and in lengths from 8′ through 24′. Pressure treated to a Ground Contact retention of either ACQ or CA Chemical preservative. Our industry partners for these materials are Great Southern Wood Preserving and Universal Forest Products.
Remanufactured Lumber
Southern Pine Lumber Company goes beyond our competition in every area. That is also true when it comes to our remanufactured products such as 1×2’s and 2×2’s. These products are made from our DSS material, resawn, and then run through a molder to surface and ease all four edges of each piece. Pressure treated to a Ground Contact retention of either ACQ or CA chemical preservative these items will finish off your deck and handrail with the highest quality possible.
At Southern Pine Lumber Company we have 3 different wood decking product lines available. We offer our decking in either a standard eased edge or a 1/2” bull-nose finish. These products can also be ordered with or without wax water repellant. All deckings are treated to a Ground Contact retention of either ACQ or CA chemical preservative. Dense Select Structural Decking
This 2×6 decking material is a consistently high grade of decking. Our 2×6 DSS material is produced by Langdale Forest Products of Valdosta, GA. This grade is recommended for construction where high strength, stiffness and very good appearance are desired. This item is available in lengths from 8′ through 20′.
SunDeck
This 2×6 Decking is manufactured from a Dense Select Structural or #1 Prime Southern Yellow Pine, and is a brand produced by Southern Pine Lumber Company. All four edges are machined to a 1/2″ radius and treated to a Ground Contact retention of Copper Azole chemical preservative. This product is available in lengths from 8′ through 20′.
SunDeck Plus
Manufactured from a specialty cut of Dense Select Structural or #1 Prime Southern Yellow Pine, this 2×6 Decking is produced with minimal edge wane. Produced exclusively by Southern Pine Lumber Company the edges are machined to a 1/2″ radius to provide a more uniform, dressed appearance. This product has the added benefit of a wax water repellent additive. This product is available in lengths from 8′ through 20′.
